superstition

a pack i made based around the word superstition. basically you just build a face around what each part of the face signifies. ie curly hair means your strong etc.

hand drawn type

final design for the geometric type. moved away from computer generated because it looked shit. stuck to what i know best, drawing.

work space

commandeered a corner in my flat for my new workspace. excited to finally have a printer, come on productiveness

margotmungo

it turns out margot is a boy called mungo. i feel cheated.

3d type

i've been prototyping a 3d geometric type. i want to do it in either fluorescent or pastel colours, this was just the coloured card i had to hand. there's a couple of the same letters, just trying to work out what works best.

the wall project

i lovingly share a room with my best friend sofie and we've decided to have a little wall off. we each have a blank wall of our room to do with what we will. she has pushed on forward with her first installation, watch this space for my contribution to the walls of our boudoir.

bear

homograph illustrations. bear bear. bat bat. hide hide... planning on doing an A0 illustration in pen combining different homographs in this sort of style

margot

it turns out my new kitten margot likes my work, and likes annoying me.  this week has resulted in far more kitten pictures than work

jane eyre cover

re-mastered version of the jane eyre cover, still only a prototype, more changes to be made.

kitsch house

with the kitsch objects i found i'm gonna make some sort of surreal 3d scene with them.. was looking at making things out of paper building up around those objects. so here i used the lion doorknob..

collaborative elective.

Penguin set us a brief to create a cover for Jane Eyre to bring it to a modern audience. Our thinking behind this initial mock up was looking at the themes of fire and ice in the book. We then plan on putting it in a big silver box. Just initial ideas, but see what you think.

plasticine

so i've been playing with some plasticine. I wanna try and make some scenes for my new project. This stuff is all very experimental and none of it is how i want it to look but it's a start.

Thank you.

During the summer i had an amazing internship at the Almeida theatre, working on Stephen Poliakoff's 'My City'. I did a series of illustrations for them which they used as props in the play. Unfortunately i don't yet have photos of these illustrations because it was all very top secret. But i thought i'd suck up and send them a thank you card, this is it.

Hopefully at some point in the future i'll be able to show you all the actual work i did for them.

87

It was my Grandma's big 8 7  so i thought i'd be nice and make her a little card.

It's like a house, get it?

Final Book.

Summer has drawn to an end. It has been long, occasionally sunny, and memorable. I thought before i get too stuck in to the new term i should show you lovely people how my last project ended up. I can say  for probably the first time in my 20 years that i'm genuinely happy with my work. I worked long in to the night and gave all i could give. Here is a selection of some of the pages i like the most. I hope you like them too.
